Germany, Imperial. A Porcelain Plate with Hindenburg Portrait, by Hutschenreuther Selb, 1915

A white porcelain plate featuring a portrait of Hindenburg in uniform decorated with a pour le merite and iron cross, holding a pair of binoculars, the portrait is surrounded by a wreath, below sits the inscription Aus Großen Zeif 1914-1915. (From Great Times), the exterior edge of the plate features a green hand-painted wreath, two small raised gilded handles sit at three and nine o’clock, the base features a makers mark denoting the factory of Hutschenreuther Selb BAVARIA, base also marked “Anno 1915”, impressed 3594 on reverse, the plate measures 233mm in diameter (including the handles) x 38mm (h), heavy wear to gilded rim and handles, scratches present on Hindenburg portrait, remains in very fine condition.
