(Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 47.16 mm (w) x 62.42 mm (h), weighing 15.3 grams, minor loss of finish is evident and the lower left side of the swastika demonstrates a narrow depression with slight perforations to the edges (possibly indicative of an inaccurate initial attempt to cut out the rifle), in very fine condition.
