Constructed of silver with gilt and multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a narrow Cross Pattée with its arms joined through the quadrants by arabesque latticework, the obverse with green enameled arms, bearing a central white enameled medallion with a detailed and hand-painted depiction of Zähringen Castle, with a ribbed gilt ring, the reverse bearing a central red enameled medallion overlaid by a gilt lion rampant, within a ribbed gilt ring, the twelve o’clock arm with a suspension loop, unmarked, measuring 40.00 mm (w) x 42.56 mm (h), weighing 20.6 grams, with minor flecking of enamels evident, in extremely fine condition.
