A unique handwritten text by Sergeant H. Opperman, 26th Officers & NCO, comprising 62 pages one direction of Machine Gun Notes (including topics such as visual training, fire direction, camouflage, and trench warfare, etc.), and 75 pages in the opposite direction of Musketry Notes (including topics such as judging distance, theory, fire action and fire orders, etc.), the book measures 192mm (w) x 240mm (l) x 22mm (d), light staining and fading of exterior, pages show light foxing and are quite brittle, but remain in extremely fine condition.

Accompanied by a handwritten lecture introduction regarding enlistment.
