Germany, Wehrmacht. A Narvik Shield

(Narvikschild). Constructed of zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, symbolizing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjäger, respectively, topped by a date of “1940”, an inscription of “NARVIK”, and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, the reverse with all four attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 42.27 mm (w) x 90.95 mm (h), weighing 19.7 grams, missing its backplate and branch-identifying wool liner, in extremely fine condition.
