Constructed of a blackened and silvered zink alloy, on loop for suspension from a mis-matched War Merit Cross ribbons with a silvered brass buckle and horizontal pinback, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened and pebbled core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked, measuring 44.86 mm (w) x 49.66 mm (h), weighing 15.7 grams, a quintessential example of a postwar Spanish-made Iron Cross issued to veterans of the Blue Division, in extremely fine condition.
