Croatia. A Treasury Guard Official’s Dagger, M42

Silvered hilt fittings feature a circular pommel with a center obverse raised inscription, "NHD" (Independent State of Croatia) while the straight cross-guard with rounded ends features a raised tobacco leaf motif flanking the central letters, R over S (RIZNICKA STRAZA), Treasury Department, on both sides. The white grip with twisted wire wrap, only minor crack to upper part of handle. Blade is plain, unmarked, nickel plated, approximately 25cm (10 inches) in length, double edged blade, grades very fine, showing minor surface wear. Scabbard is decorated on both sides with raised tobacco leaves and missing enameled shield, exhibiting wear and surface rust, overall remains good and rare.
