In bronze with red and blue enamels, unmarked, obverse illustrating a left-facing charging and rifle bearing soldier, with four battles and dates listed at the left (AMAR COCCHE 19/8/37, PONTE AL SAGAN 28/1/38, AILOTTA 19/2/38, FANGALA 20/2/38) and three others at the right (BENNEIA 21/2/38, FAGGI 22/2/38, MALLEGA 24/2/38, above a five-sided star), all above alternating red and blue stripes, reverse illustrating a leaping lion facing left, the lion symbolic of Ethiopia, inscribed "LIX BATTAGLIONE COLONIALE" (59th Colonial Battalion) above, a rope in a series of loops above the inscription " "IN PERICOLO SURGO" " ("In Danger Surge") below the lion, measuring 30.5 mm (w) x 34.8 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, intact enamels, contact marks, spotting, original ribbon, better than very fine.
