A fine example of a third reich period Kriegsmarine sailor’s cap “Matrosenmütze” cover. It is constructed of white cotton, with a traditional Kriegsmarine eagle pinned to the front of the cap that is constructed of zink with fine details and attached to the cap via a single pin - measuring 52 mm (w) x 22 mm (h), and a metal tri-colour cap cockade that constructed of silver and black finished aluminum, with a red felt core - measuring 22 mm in diameter. The cap itself measures 267 mm in diameter, is lightly soiled from wear, and in overall better than very fine condition. (C:185)
