Russia, Imperial. A 1724 Commemorative Medal for the Coronation of Catherine I

Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing raised and rightward-facing busts of Tsar Peter I (“the Great”) and Catherine I, circumscribed by names and titles in Russian Cyrillic, the reverse bearing a detailed depiction of Tsar Peter I crowning Catherine, circumscribed by a Russian Cyrillic inscription describing the scene and date of “1724”, unmarked, measuring 60 mm in diameter, with minor and age-appropriate surface wear evident, in near extremely fine condition.
