Russia, Imperial. A 1728 Medal for the Coronation of Tsar Peter II

Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a stylized bust of Tsar Peter II in classical regalia, circumscribed by name and title in Russian Cyrillic, the reverse bearing a central raised pedestal bearing a crown, orb, and sceptre, situated beneath a symbol of providence, circumscribed by inscriptions dedicated to the 25 February 1728 coronation in Moscow, the obverse bearing an unidentified engraver’s mark, measuring 62 mm in diameter, with age-appropriate and minor surface wear evident, in near extremely fine condition.
