Russia, Imperial. A Tsar Nicholas I Silver Prize Medal for Students of Imperial Moscow University

Constructed of silver, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of Minerva placing a laurel crown onto a student’s head, circumscribed by Latin inscriptions indicating that the medal was issued to recognize distinction at Imperial Moscow University, the reverse bearing a raised Latin dedication from Tsar Nicholas I with full titles, unmarked, measuring 51 mm in diameter, weighing 51.2 grams, demonstrating moderate edge nicks, in near extremely fine condition.
