Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of Tsar Alexander I in medieval armour and wielding a spear with an ornately-decorated shield executed in high relief, circumscribed by a Russian Cyrillic inscription of “РОДОМЫСЛЪ ДЕВЯТАГОНАДЕСЯТЬ ВѢКА” (“RODOMYSL OF THE NINETEENTH CENTURY”), the reverse bearing a detailed depiction of a helmets warrior clutching a sword and shield, raised the former toward a fallen enemy and using the latter to protect a female figure flanked by the coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam, circumscribed by a Cyrillic dedication to the 1813 liberation of Amsterdam from French forces and situated above a strike date of “1836”, the obverse bearing a possible engraver’s mark that appears to read “РАКЛЕ”, measuring 65 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
