Medium Version; Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (D.K.R) dark brown leather medical pouch carried by stretcher bearers; approximately 20 c,m x 4.5 cm x 4.5 cm; two vertical leather tabs on the front on both sides fasten to a steel studs to close the flap; two vertical leather loops on the backside to fasten to belt; flap opens to nearly 90 degrees; stamped “ Karl Henkel Bielefeld”, written on the inside “ Math (Matthias) Hoffmann”, “K.T.”, J. Rübkamp”, “Freiw (Freiwillige) Sanit (Sanitäter) Kol. T.” (Volunteer Paramedic); wear marks on leather, condition better than very fine. Footnote: During the late stages of the war when trained Sanitäter became increasingly rare, the Wehrmacht utilized volunteer paramedics and stretcher bearers with only limited knowledge of first aid pouches like these.
