(Schlesischer Adler I. Klasse mit Verleihungsurkunde). Constructed of a patinated zink alloy, the obverse consisting of a Silesian-style German national eagle clutching a silvered banner bearing an inscription of “FÜR SCHLESIEN” (“FOR SILESIA”) in its talons, overlaid across the chest by a silvered crescent and cross, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 31.41 mm (w) x 42.33 mm (h), weighing 18.8 grams, with some loss of silver finish evident, accompanied by its award document, constructed of off-white paper with multi-coloured ink named to “SCHÜTZEN HORST LUDWIG” of 10. Kompanie, Reichswehrschützen-Regiment 57, awarded on 24 September 1919 and issued on 30 September, certified by the handwritten signature of an unidentified regimental commander, measuring 21 cm (w) x 16.5 cm (h), with minor loss of silver finish visible to the obverse of the base, in overall near extremely fine condition.
