A large round gilt bronze medal, the obverse depicting an Austrian eagle, surrounded by the Coat of Arms of Austria’s nine states, the reverse inscribed “Für Verdienste um die Republic Österreich” (For Merit for the Republic of Austria), measures 45.2mm (w) x 49.7mm (h – inclusive of integral suspension), weighs 33.4 grams, marked BRONZE on rim near suspension ring, suspended from its period original ribbon, small edge knocks and scratches throughout, in overall extremely fine condition.
