Germany, Luftwaffe. A Portrait of a Decorated Flight Personnel Leutnant

(Luftwaffe Porträt). An interesting wartime oil on canvas portrait depicting a decorated Luftwaffe Flight Personnel Leutnant, shown in a classic dark grey-blue service tunic with collar and shoulders insignia clearly communicating rank and branch, in addition a 1939 Iron Cross II Class ribbon, 1939 Iron Cross I Class, and Reconnaissance Clasp in either Bronze or Gold Grade, the lower left corner displays an artist’s signature and illegible date, stapled to a wooden frame surrounding a hollow void which exposes the reverse of the canvas, measuring 45.5 cm (w) x 59 cm (h), a superb image suitable for framing in extremely fine condition.
