Footnote: The Order of the North Star (AKA Order of the Polar Star) was instituted on June 23, 1748 by King Frederick I and revised in 1975. It is awarded to foreigners for service to Sweden and Swedish interests, in four grades: Commander Grand Cross, Commander I Class, Commander, Knight, plus a Medal.
