Germany, Imperial. A Stabswache EM/NCO’s Gorget

(Ringkragen für Stabswachen). Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse bearing a raised and finely-detailed Prussian imperial eagle clutching an orb and sceptre, the reverse retaining an intact red wool liner, with two rivets and washers securing the obverse eagle in place, with a large downward-pointing clip emanating from the centre to secure the gorget to the wearer’s uniform, and with the upper corners featuring two clips for the addition of a neck chain which has been lost to time, unmarked, measuring 12.5 cm (w) x 13 cm (h), tarnishing is visible to the base metal, the reverse liner demonstrates minor soiling, and the right chain clip has broken off, the gorget remains in very fine condition.
