Constructed of silver with black enamels, the obverse consisting of a black enameled disc, bearing a silvered date of “1920” topped by oak leaves and a raised Stahlhelm insignia, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, bearing an etched membership code and date of “8. 3. 1920”, maker marked with the logo of Der Stahlhof, Magdeburg, measuring 35.10 mm in diameter, weighing 15.1 grams, a rare large version badge issued to an early Stahlhelm member in extremely fin with minor flecking and tarnishing visible to the enamels and silver base, respectively, a rare badge issued to an early Stahlelm member in near extremely fine condition.
