Germany, Wehrmacht. A Close Combat Clasp, Bronze Grade, by A.G.M.u.K.

(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, flanked on each side by four oak leaves and sun rays with two acorns, the reverse with an integral hinge and banjo-style horizontal pinback, designer marked “PEEKHAUS, BERLIN” and maker marked “A.G.M.u.K”, measuring 97.90 mm (w) x 25.88 mm (h), weighing 33.2 grams, demonstrating minor loss of finish in addition to the loss of the centre backplate, with detachment of the catch which, while included, shows evidence of previous repairs, in very fine condition.
