Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a raised and rightward-facing bust of Empress Anna (Ioannovna), circumscribed by name and title in Russian Cyrillic, the reverse bearing an additional raised depiction of Anna surrounded by courtiers and receiving a crown, orb, and sceptre, interspersed with patriotic national imagery in the form of a cross and anchor, circumscribed by an inscription indicating that the medal was issued for the coronation of Anna as Empress in Moscow on 28 April 1730, the obverse designer/engraver marked S. Yudin, measuring 62.68 mm in diameter, with sporadic oxidation visible to the base metal in addition to minor bruising of the edges, in very fine condition.
