(Wiederholungsspange 1939 zum Eisernen Kreuz I. Klasse 1914 mit Etui). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1940-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, situated on top of a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of “1939” on a pebbled background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of a Type A version manufactured by B.H. Mayer, Pforzheim, measuring 44.15 mm (w) x 30.48 mm (h), weighing 9.7 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a silvered depiction of the award, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted black velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 64 mm (w) x 64 mm (l) x 16 mm (h), in overall extremely fine condition.
