Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse bearing a raised and rightward-facing bust of Tsarina Elizabeth, circumscribed by name and title in Latin, the reverse bearing a raised depiction of the Tsarina clutching a cross and leading a group of uniformed and armed soldiers of the Preobrazhensky Life Guards Regiment to the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, circumscribed by Latin dedications and a date of 25 November 1741 in Roman numerals, the obverse maker marked “G. WAECHTER” for medallist Georg Christian Waechtler, measuring 63 mm in diameter, demonstrating sporadic and minor oxidation and loss of finish with slight nicks to the edges, in very fine condition.
