Russia, Imperial. A 1704 Medal for the Construction of Fort Kronshlot, Silver Grade

Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of a helmet warrior gesturing toward a seascape with ships visible on the horizon, circumscribed by a Latin inscription dedicated to the security of the seas, the reverse bearing a depiction of the fort in high relief, circumscribed by a Latin inscription indicating that the medal was issued to commemorate the construction of Fort Kronshlot in 1704, measuring 46 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition, with moderate surface oxidation and loss of finish evident, in very fine condition.
