(Ordnungspolizei Sturzhelm für Kradschützen). An Ordnungspolizei motorcycle helmet, constructed of a molded and reinforced vulcanfibre shell, finished in an unusual field-grey replacement paint. The exterior features a raised and padded protective bar full surrounding the lower edge of the cylinder, and is flanked by ventilation holes with mesh screens. Pinned to the peak is silvered bronze Ordnungspolizei insignia consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 100 mm (w) x 45 mm (h) overall. Completing the exterior features is a protruding pressed leather visor, fully finished in identical paint. The interior features a multi-piece brown leather liner, with a crown insert consisting of nine fingers perforated with five ventilation holes, through which is looped a drawstring. An additional liner flap pulls down to fasten under the chin with an attached strap and buckle, and features ventilation holes across the neck with additional ear openings. The crown retains a partially-intact D.R.G.M. label. Measuring approximately 22 cm (w) x 30 cm (l) x 12 cm (h), it demonstrates issues consistent with age and wear, include fatigue of the vulcanfibre and leather elements, as well as chipping and cracking to the replacement paint. It is in an overall very fine condition.
