Instituted January 4, 1862. Civil Division. In silver gilt, a green enamelled seven point star with ball finials and three small silver faceted rays in each quadrant, the obverse medallion with a red enamelled field with a central Arabic inscription (ABDULAZIZ HAN EL MUSTENID BITTEVFIKAT EL RABBANIYE MELIK UL DEVLETUL OSAMIYE) with a crescent moon along the bottom, the reverse medallion bears two drums with flags and the inscription SENE 699, surmounted by a crescent moon and five point star suspension, measures 62.4mm (w) x 96.2mm (h – inclusive of suspension and integral loop), weighs 51.0 grams (including ribbon segment) worn on a small piece of correct neck ribbon, enamel chips and lacks to 11 o’clock arm and green enamel ring, remains in very fine condition.
