Germany, Luftwaffe. A Krim Shield

(Luftwaffe Krimschild). Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates “1941-1942”, affixed with all four attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with an intact paper backer and dark grey wool liner indicating Luftwaffe issue, unmarked, the shield measuring 52.38 mm (w) x 61.48 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
