(Medalha Militar de Comportamento Exemplar). Instituted in 1863. In silver, unmarked, measuring 38 mm (w) x 44 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, very light contact, circular clasp affixed to its original ribbon, near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The Military Medal for Exemplary Conduct was instituted on October 2, 1863, by decree of the Secretary of State for War Affairs and distinguishes military personnel who serve throughout their career with exemplary moral and disciplinary conduct and a proven spirit of loyalty. It is awarded in three grades: I Class Gold Grade (awarded to the soldier who has completed thirty years of effective military service, who has never suffered any criminal or disciplinary punishment and has always shown remarkable qualities of zeal for the service and a high sense of virtue, obedience and the rules of the military discipline), II Class Silver Grade (awarded to the military that counts fifteen years of effective military service, who has never suffered any criminal or disciplinary punishment) and III Class Bronze Grade (awarded to officers, sergeants and privates who complete six years of effective military service and who have never suffered any criminal or disciplinary punishment).
