Sash Badge: multi-piece construction, in silver gilt with forest green enamels, maker marked "AB & Co" (Arthus Bertrand) on the ring, measuring 54.7 mm (w) x 91 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension; and Breast Star: multi-piece construction, silver gilt with forest green enamels, maker marked "AB & Co" on the pin, measuring 85.3 mm (w) x 85 mm (h), vertical pinback flanked by dual stays. Chipping evident in the green enamels on the centrepiece and at the base of the wreath of the Sash Badge, scattered gilt wear on the centrepiece ring and on the pin of the Breast Star, very fine.

 

Footnote: The Royal Order of Sahametrei is an chivalric order conferred by the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Royal Order of Sahametrei was instituted in three classes on September 9, 1948 and was expanded to five classes on August 23, 1956. The order was not used during the Khmer Rouge period and was reinstated on October 5, 1995 by Royal Decree No. 1095/01. It is conferred primarily on foreigners who have rendered distinguished services to the King and to the people of Cambodia, particularly in the field of external relations and diplomatic services or, as a token of friendship.
