Norway. A Viking Ship Folk Art Silver Brooch

Constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of a viking ship manned by a crew of warriors clutching shields, riding a stylized wave which takes the form of a serpent likely symbolizing Jörmangundr, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, marked with a silver content number of “830” and the hallmarks of an unidentified Norwegian silversmith, measuring 60.08 mm (w) x 16.67 mm (h), weighing 3.6 grams, a striking Norse folk art brooch in extremely fine condition.
