(Zollgrenzschutz-Ehrenzeichen). Instituted 17 February 1939. (1939-1944 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled and ribbed arms, the obverse bearing a central raised German nationale eagle set within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN ZOLLGRENZSCHUTZ” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN BORDER PROTECTION”), unmarked, measuring 42.46 mm (w) x 46.85 mm (h), weighing 21.9 grams, in extremely fine condition.
