Japan, Empire. An Order of the Rising Sun, V Class

(Kyokujitsu_sho). Instituted in 1875. In silver with white, green and violet enamels, a starburst pattern with a central red glass cabochon, obverse mirrors the reverse, a 3-5-3 configuration in the Paulownia flowers designating it as V class, measuring 45.6mm (w) x 71.3mm (h), weighs 38.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), worn on original ribbon which has been stained purple, hook and eye on reverse of ribbon, enamels intact, very minor contact marks, remains in extremely fine condition.
