Germany, Wehrmacht. A Close Combat Clasp, Bronze Grade, by Rudolf Souval

(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, situated over a magnetic metal backplate, flanked on each side by four oak leaves and sun rays with two acorns, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Rudolf Souval, Vienna, measuring 96.68 mm (w) x 26.06 mm (h), weighing 33.8 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of bronze finish, in better than very fine condition.
