(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of silvered and gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with one of two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with two field-added lugs for sew-on or pinned attachment, maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 42.14 mm (w) x 53.82 mm (h), weighing 20.4 grams, most of the gilt and silver finish has been lost and the badge’s original reverse hardware has been removed with the two lugs crudely soldered on, an interesting field-converted example in very fine condition.
