(Waffen-SS Tropen Feldbluse). A well-preserved Waffen-SS Sahariana-style tropical field tunic, constructed of a khaki-tan cotton cloth. It features a classic overlaid shoulder yoke extending across the upper shoulder and breast flaps, with a scalloped front and with the shoulders topped by pebbled zink buttons for the accommodation of straps. Stitched onto the left upper arm is an insignia in the form of a black cotton/rayon-blended backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey SS-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 95 mm (w) x 45 mm (h) overall. Each cuff has a slit closing with two brown bakelite buttons for an adjustable fit. Four pockets are set into the breast flaps, with the lower edge of the yoke perforated with two reinforced buttonholes, in turn meeting pebbled zink buttons to closer the top pockets. The lower pockets similarly have scalloped flaps with reinforced buttonholes meeting pebbled zink buttons. It closes with four pebbled zink buttons on the right flap meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left flap. Narrow pockets are set into the lower interior of both breast flaps, while the armpits feature reinforced eyelets for effective ventilation in desert heat. Unmarked, the tunic measures approximately 44 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 67 cm, and an overall body length of 68 cm. Minor soiling and material fatigue is visible to the material, but the tunic remains in an overall near extremely fine condition.
