(Armeekreuz). Instituted in 1814. In bronze gilt, designed as a paw cross and fabricated from bronze of captured French guns, measuring 27.8 mm (w) x 30.8 mm (h) inclusive of its integral loop, very light contact and surface wear, lightly soiled original triangular ribbon with hook and eye, near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The Army Cross 1813-1814 (AKA Cannon Cross) was instituted on May 13, 1814 by Emperor Franz I of Austria and could be awarded to all soldiers who took part in the wars of liberation against Napoleon.
