(Tahlisiye Madalyasi). Instituted in 1859. In silver, measuring 36.7 mm in diameter, exhibiting spotting, edge nicks, its original hanger with dual screwbacks is independent of the replacement ribbon, better than very fine.

 

Footnote: The Life Saving Medal (AKA Medal of Tahlisiye) was instituted in 1859 and awarded to those who saved other people's lives or for other similar heroic deeds, which included rescuing people from drowning, fires, earthquakes or landslides, while risking one's own life. This medal could be inherited but the heirs were not entitled to wear it.
