Constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with green enameled arms joined together through the quadrants by red enameled diamonds, the obverse overlaid by a central white enameled falcon with details executed in silver, in turn overlaying a pair of crossed swords, the reverse with white enameled arms joined together through the quadrants by green enameled diamonds, bearing a central blue enameled oval medallion overlaid by a silvered inscription of “VIGILANDO ASCENDIMUS” (“THROUGH VIGILANCE WE ASCEND”), situated within an oval laurel leaf wreath topped by a crown, the twelve o’clock arm featuring a swivel hinge connecting to a hollow crown suspension, in turn topped by a ring retaining a period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 36.92 mm (w) x 61.47 mm (h), weighing 21.5 grams, with minor flecking of enamels evident, a superb example in extremely fine condition.
