(Fallschirmjäger Stahlhelm-Tarnbezug). An extremely well-preserved Fallschirmjäger M38 Stahlhelm cover, constructed of multiple panels of weatherproofed cotton. Both the interior and exterior are dyed in a classic Luftwaffe Splinter B camouflage, consisting of overlapping irregular geometric shapes executed in light brown, dark brown, and olive-drab, overlaid by olive-drab splinters. The exterior is fully circumscribed by a light brown cotton strap, stitched into cells at regular intervals for the addition of foliage. The crown is similarly topped by cross-shaped straps of identical construction, similarly stitched into cells. Six blackened magnetic clips are stitched to the interior room to lock onto an accompanying helmet. Unmarked, the cover measures approximately 35 cm (l) x 18.5 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface. It has notably been assembled with the interior material set on the exterior, presenting a faded appearance in contrast to the interior. Demonstrating no notable damage or wear, it remains in an extremely fine condition.
