(Waffen-SS Panzerjacke für Hauptscharführer). A rare and exceptionally well-preserved Waffen-SS Panzer wrap, constructed of black wool. It features a turned-down collar which transitions into double breast lapels, flanked on each side by tabs. The right side features an insignia tab constructed of a black wool base with a buckram core, bearing dual machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire Sig runes, measuring 40 mm (w) x 55 mm (l). The left side bears a rank tab constructed of black wool with a buckram core, pinned with two silvered rank pips, and overlaid by a silver aluminum wire tresse bi-sected by a black threaded band, measuring 40 mm (w) x 55 mm (l). The shoulders are flanked by straps constructed of black wool with field-grey underlays, trimmed with rose-pink piping, bordered by grey rayon tresses, and pinned with two silvered rank pips. Each measuring 45 mm (w) x 105 mm (l), the straps are secured to the tunic with pebbled zink buttons on the inner edge and with integral loops set into the outer edges of the tunic, which meet analogous reverse straps. Stitched onto the upper left arm is an insignia consisting of a black rayon base bearing a machine-embroidered, silver-grey, SS-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. Measuring 90 mm (w) x 42 mm (h) overall, the eagle displays factory-original zig-zag stitching. The cuff of each sleeve features a vertical slit closing with two black bakelite buttons for an adjustable fit. The left breast has two sets of vertically-arranged threaded loops for the accommodation of decorations with vertical pinbacks. The wrap closes with nine black bakelite buttons of various sizes on the right flap meeting an equal number of hidden buttonholes on the left flap. Stitched into place through the top buttonhole are ribbons for the 1939 Iron Cross II Class and Eastern Front Medal. The interior features a partial liner constructed of black rayon set into both breast flaps, with a two-piece integral belt set into the lower quarter. Size dimensions remain visible on the upper left flap in faint white ink. Otherwise unmarked, the wrap measures approximately 42 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 53 cm, and an overall body length of 53 cm. Demonstrating no evident damage or wear, this scarce wrap is in a near mint condition.
