In silvered metal, a round badge presenting a central six pointed star with a female portrait in the center, surrounded by two black enamel rings inscribed KRIEGSHILFSDIENST 1914 in the outer ring and WIENER FREIWILLIGE RETTUNGSGESELLSCHAFT IX. DEC. 1881 (War Auxiliary Service Vienna Voluntary Rescue Society 9 Dec 1881), the reverse presents a single horizontal pin, marked H.S. and with a star, measures 26.5mm in diameter, weighs 7.9 grams, light wear, remains in very fine condition.
