Romania, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown, Commander

(Ordin "Corona Romaniei"). Instituted in 1881. Type I (1881-1941). Civil Division. In silver gilt, a white and red enamelled Maltese cross, with Carol Cyphers in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a superimposed crown on a red field, surrounded by a white enamel ring inscribed PRIN NOI INSINE 14 MARTIE 1881, the reverse medallion bears the date 10. MAIU encircled by a white ring with the dates 1866 1877 1881, measures 61.7mm (w) x 61.1mm (h), weighs 41.8 grams, worn on a full-length replacement ribbon, enamels intact, minimal wear, remains in very fine condition.
