Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Awards

(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of three awards, including:

1 An NSDAP 10-Year Long Service Award, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed arms joined together through the quadrants by stylized sun rays, the obverse bearing a central circular oak leaf wreath overlaid by an NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a raised inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 42.06 mm (w) x 46.45 mm (h), weighing 33.2 grams, demonstrating loss of finish throughout in addition to minor oxidation, in very fine condition.

2. An Eastern Peoples Decoration, II Class in Gold with Swords, constructed of gilded zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant starburst, overlaid by a central wreathed rosette, with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the suspension loop maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “100” for Wächtler & Lange, Mittweida, measuring 39.63 mm (w) x 45.55 mm (h), weighing 12.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating near-total loss of finish, in very fine condition.

3. An HJ Proficiency Badge, Silver Grade, the obverse consisting of a Tyr rune, overlaid by a central mobile swastika, surrounded by a circular ring bearing an inscription of “FÜR LEISTUNGEN IN DER H.J.” (“FOR MERIT IN THE H.J.”), the reverse with a vertical pinback, stamped with an issue number of “292633” and marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M1/35” for Moeller & Schröder, Offenbach, measuring 30.93 mm (w) x 51.86 mm (h).
