(Waffen-SS Ordensschnalle). A Waffen-SS medal bar for long service and Second World War combat, including:
1. A War Merit Cross II Class with Swords, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms and with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1939”, without visible marks, measuring 48.77 mm (w) x 48.60 mm (h), demonstrating sporadic oxidation, in near extremely fine condition.
2. An SS Long Service Award, IV Class for 4 Years, constructed of blackened bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing central raised double Sig runes, set within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a central raised number “4”, overlaid by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS”), unmarked, measuring 38.09 mm in diameter, demonstrating minor loss of finish to high-contact points, in extremely fine condition.
3. An Anschluss Medal, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised date of “13. MÄRZ 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.40 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition
