(Waffen-SS Einheitsfeldmütze M43 für Männer der Panzertruppe). An extremely well-preserved Waffen-SS Panzer EM/NCO’s Dachau-style M43 field cap, constructed of black wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, scalloped at the front, providing optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the panels are rolled up and secured in place at the front with two black bakelite buttons which emanate from the right flap and meet an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left flap. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a black wool trapezoid bearing a machine-embroidered, silver-grey, SS-style Totenkopf with details highlighted in black threading, topped by an SS-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika of identical construction. The peak insignia measures 70 mm (w) x 50 mm (h) overall. The exterior features are completed with a protruding visor with a card stock core lined in identical wool on the obverse, and with an exposed core on the reverse in classic Dachau style. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece black cotton/rayon-blended liner. It is unmarked with the exception of a white ink size stamp of “56” visible on the crown. The cap measures approximately 19 cm (w) x 25 cm (l) x 14 cm (h). Demonstrating no notable damage or wear, it remains in a near mint condition.
