(Reichsfeuerwehr-Ehrenzeichen II. Stufe). Instituted 22 June 1936 by Wilhelm Frick. (1936-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse with white enameled arms overlaid by stylized red flames, bearing a central white enameled disc overlaid by a black mobile swastika, the arms joined together through the quadrants by a circular ring, the obverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM FEUERLÖSCHWESEN” (“FOR MERIT IN FIRE-FIGHTING”), unmarked, measuring 43.88 mm (w) x 48.17 mm (h), weighing 17.2 grams, the integral ring has been bent forward and some flecking is visible to the enamels, in very fine condition.
