(Звезда ордена Святого Станислава). Instituted on 7 May 1765 by Stanisław II Augustus. Incorporated into Russian orders in 1831. Constructed of silver with enamels, consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, the obverse with a central white enameled medallion bearing a raised red enameled monogram of Saint Stanislaus within a ribbed silver ring, in turn circumscribed by a raised silver inscription of “PRÆMIANDO INCITAT” (“REWARDING ENCOURAGES”), surrounded by a green enameled ring bearing four silver laurel branches and border by ribbed silver rings, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with a makers mark of “KEIBEL”, an “84” zolotnik mark indicating a silver content of 875, and a Romanov royal warrant, measuring 88.76 mm (w) x 88.96 mm (h), weighing 46.7 grams, significant cracking and chipping of the obverse enamels is evident, along with some age-appropriate tarnishing of the silver, in overall better than very fine condition.
