Germany, BDM. A Rare Service Beret

(Bund Deutscher Mädel Dienstmütze). A rare and well-preserved Bund Deutscher Mädel (League of German Girls/BDM) service beret, constructed of a black wool shell. The exterior is plain with the exception of a small pom at the centre of the crown. A brown leather sweatband fully lines the interior, folding down to reveal an intact Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) label, indicating that the cap is likely a late-production example. Measuring approximately 26 cm in diameter when folded flat, the sweatband displays a single tear, but the beret demonstrates no other notable damage or wear and is a scarce example in near extremely fine condition.
