(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, set over top of a magnetic metal backplate, flanked on each side by four oak leaves and sun rays with two acorns, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “W.E. PEEKHAUS, BERLIN” and maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 96.52 mm (w) x 25.93 mm (h), weighing 35.9 grams, demonstrating loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition.
